Tuesday Fun

We were suppose to go to a park in the Valley but my car wouldn't start this morning. Blah :( Anyway luck was with us because Erica hadn't left Liberty Lake yet so she came over to jump the car. So instead of the park we went to Broadway Elementary School for free lunch. And to play. (Lunch is free to kids 1-18.) Erica and I had Wendy's Almond Berry Salads. Very good. After lunch was workout. I haven't been since the third of this month. It was nice to see the ladies and my kids had a great time playing in the play room with the sitters.

Monday Fun

Today was fun. In the morning Brandon and Neaveh came over. Neighbor kids started coming out. So I thought lets call some friends over. Kim, Erica, and Andrea came over and hung out. Summer said she counted 11 kids running around. I love days like today.

Deep Creek

On Saturday after a icky, sick Friday we went to Deep Creek to hike and watch Reggie climb. The kids had fun exploring, and getting dirty. I ended up with what the boys had and it kicked my butt. Terrible day to be sick, I missed a good friend's birthday. But on Saturday Reggie asked how I was feeling and I said much better. He said good lets go on a family adventure. We haven't been on one of those in awhile (unless you count shopping at Walmart). So off we went. The plan was to hike and see what we see then leave while Reggie climbs. But everyone was having so much fun we stayed and watched. We were there all day. I felt a little beat down in the evening, but it was worth it. :)

MOPS Park Playdate

Yesterday was a MOPS get together at Pavillion Park here in Liberty Lake. Seven people plus who knows how many kids showed up. I thought a good turn out. The water toys were turned off at the time. It was kind of sad to see all these kids show up in bathing suits and not be able to get wet. I pretty sure the kids still had fun on the big toys. It was hot, a great summer day.

Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies are Reggie's favorite and I've never made them. (I know, I know) So that was what we made for the Father's Day party. And you know what?.... They are good!

Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
1/2 c plus 6 tbsp. butter, softened
3/4 c firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 c all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional) we used 1/4
3 c Quaker Oates (uncooked)
1 c raisins

1. Heat oven to 350*F. In large bowl, beat butter and sugars on medium speed of electric mixer until creamy.
2. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
3. Add combined flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; mix well.
$ Add oats and raisins; mix well.
5. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered.

Happy First Day of Summer!

It looks like summer, it finally feels like summer. It's SUMMER!!! I was going to have a little get together, but with kids being sick and everyone a little sleepy it's been a chill day. And that's fine with me.  Summer is helping Reggie clean his car, which means lots of splashing and fun. We cleaned off the spring window stickers and will put up the summer ones. The boys are doing good, for having been sick and learning fast that they don't get their bottles anymore. Over all the first day of summer is going good.  :)

Father's Day Party

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

Summer wanted to throw a party for Reggie. So while he was climbing in the afternoon she decorated the house and we baked his favorite cookie, had pizza and partied like the rock stars the Oakes are. Reggie was surprised and very happy. It was great!

Farmer's Market & Library

Yesterday we walked to the LL Farmer's Market from Erica's house. It rained alittle but it's always good to walk. There we bought honey and of course cookies. After we walked to the library to sign everyone up for the summer reading program. Liberty Lake has a great  library. By then it was really raining so we hurried back. It was a great Saturday morning.

Date Night

Friday night was DATE NIGHT!! Summer stayed the night at Kim's house, Reggie's mom, Darlene, took the boys for a bit. Since the weather was o.k. we went to Post Falls, first to Corbin Park to look at the river, which is really high right now. Played on the rocks a bit, then went to Toro Viejo for some yummy burritos. It was a great, chill kind of night.
Slimy stuff and yes that's my finger in the corner.

Cleaning writing off the rock.

Reggie says you could surf that. I'm good thanks.

Love him!!

Something new, Chili Poppers. They were o.k.

Super and Macho Burrtios, YUM.
